Has materialism enabled us to stay Religious while robbing us of our Spirituality? It is customary today for religious organizations and people to refer to themselves as religious. In reality, they use the terms religion and spirituality interchangeably. While trying not to disparage anyone's beliefs, a better knowledge of spirituality can simply assist us in our religious understanding.

In the beginning, faith was a tool to be utilised in religious development. In the process of producing a totally materialistic paradigm for what's real, faith was taken out of the domain of the metaphysical into the domain of the physical (material). The unfortunate consequence of the act was that faith was no longer utilized to reach a spiritual connection to God. Religious worship was changed to an understanding based on emotional, intellectual, and physical perceptions. Salvation was found at a belief in a book, a building, and finally in a former dwelling being called a savior.

The main difference is that religion is totally external, although spirituality is totally internal. What stands out most is that the spiritual person is a"believer", while the spiritual individual is at least attempting to become a"knower". What's the difference? The believer's thoughts and attitudes are formed by outside stimulation; while the knower goes through an internal procedure of understanding reality. The believer can't deal with abstract theories, he/she can not get pass the definitions or labels of something.

The knower tries to go through the reality of a thing, thereby knowing it. nabeel qureshi 're all souls or spirits residing in a physical body. But as long as one's consciousness is in control, the spirit is simply an failed portion of our body. Provided that we are consumed by the material, as long as we are continuously attempting to fulfill the non-stop request of the physical, nothing spiritual will take place in our lives. Regardless of how far dogma or church you has, unless one learns to go within, the religious portion of the being will stay dormant.

There is an old African Proverb that says:"All knowledge begins and ends with self awareness. Failure to understand this proverb has helped to create the conflict of Religion versus Spirituality.
